< Back to About Us

At Ferris Automotive, we strongly believe in the value of networking, both socially and professionally. Professionally, the exchange of information between experienced and well-trained technicians is critical to the growth and competency of their respective businesses. That is why we invest heavily in technical equipment and training, and spend significant personal and professional time participating in forums and technical exchanges. This means quality service you can rely on and technicians you can trust. Socially, we feel a responsibility to the community and our neighbors to participate in events and activities that strengthen and support not only our local community, but contribute to a bigger picture as well.

Some of the Associations we participate in and volunteer for are listed below:

BIMRSBIMRS - This is a non-profit trade association comprised of independent BMW technicians and shop owners dedicated to education and training. We have, since 1995, pooled our technical resources to produce training classes, internet forums and national meetings that have been essential tools for our businesses and consequently our clients.

ASAASA – The Automotive Service Association – Since 1951, ASA has been the leading organization for automotive service business owners and managers dedicated to advancing the professionalism and excellence in our industry through education, representation and member services.

iATNiATN – The International Automotive Technicians Network is the largest network of automotive repair professionals in the world. Almost 70,000 members from over 150 countries exchange data daily on topics from best tools to management to technical anomalies.

SAESAE – The Society of Automotive Engineers is a professional association comprised of professionals in the automotive, motorsports and aerospace fields. Through seminars, trade events and outreach they keep their membership apprised on coming trends and emerging technologies.

Euro Diagnostic ResourcesEDR – Euro Diagnostic Resources is a subscription service catering to the European automobile service professional. They provide regional technical training in addition to texts and databases for their members.

ASEASE – The independent, non-profit National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence was established in 1972. ASE's mission is to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service through the testing and certification of repair and service professionals. The ASE tests are grouped into specialties for automobile, medium/heavy truck, truck equipment, school bus, transit bus, alternate fuels, and collision repair technicians, as well as engine machinists, parts specialists, automobile service consultants, and collision damage estimators. Upon passing an exam and providing proof of two years of relevant work experience, the test taker becomes ASE certified. To remain certified, those with ASE credentials must retest every five years. ASE has years of experience helping the automotive industry verify the skills and knowledge of the technicians working at dealerships, independent repair shops, collision shops, franchises, fleets, and more. Car owners and the service and repair industry regard ASE certification as the standard measure of competency and a guide to quality auto repairs.

ASE has taken this responsibility one step further by offering a recognition opportunity for highly qualified repair facilities, which allows them to showcase their technicians and their commitment to excellence. It is called the Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition Program. The program’s emphasis is to identify establishments with a large percentage of ASE-certified professionals. It is a recognition program for businesses striving to be the best, and willing to prove their commitment.

NATEFNATEF – The National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation is an extension of ASE, dedicated to evaluating and guiding technician training programs based on standards developed by the automotive industry.

Relay For LifeRelay For Life – This is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. There are countless local Relay for Life events through out the spring and summer. We encourage and support several participants.

Boy Scouts of AmericaBoy Scouts of America – The Boy Scouts of America provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and develops personal fitness.

Going Green – This is obviously not an organized association as much as it is a way of thinking. We are constantly analyzing the waste that we produce in the course of daily business, and we are serious about the responsibility we have to dispose of that waste properly. We currently recycle all of our waste fluids as well as cardboard, plastic, paper and most of the parts that we replace on any given vehicle. It takes a little more effort to distribute everything to the proper facility to keep it from becoming landfill, but we think it’s worth it.
